William Robert Young
William Robert Young was born on the 20th January 1979, just before his twin brother, Rupert. He lived in Hungerford in Berkshire with his parents, Robin and Annabel, and his brother, Rupert, and Emma, his older sister.
Will always showed a talent for performing, even at a young age in school productions and plays.At age 18, Will moved out of the family home and went off to Exeter University, where he recieved a 2:2 in politics. Clever boy!
He wasnt just a brillaint student though! Will played many sports for his school including rugby, basketball, athletics, football, long jump and the triple jump!!!
Will was encouraged by a friend to enter the Pop Idol competiton as a bit of a laugh to see what happened, just before he enrolled at the Arts Educational School in Chiswick. He had decided to study a 3 year music theatre course and had been given a scholarship to the school. (See, they recognised his talent!!).
Will had worked part-time jobs over the previous few years, including bar tending at his Dads pub, working in a restaurant and being a P.A in Sony Music!
Since his win on Pop Idol, Will has released 4 singles, Evergreen/Anything is Possible, Light My Fire/Aint No Sunshine, Long and Winding Road & Dont Let ME Down/You & I.
He has worked with Cathy Dennis (who wrote Kylies number 1 hit 'Cant Get You Out Of My Head') and Burt Bacharach (big time singer-songwriter of yesteryear...ask some crumblies for more info!!) on his debut album, From Now On
Keep your eyes peeled this crimbo, because our lovely Will is appearing on many MANY shows!
